The House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee advanced HB1153. This bill is titled an Act to Increase Youth Voice Regarding Foster Care Placements and Family Time. It states the court may consider the preferences of the juvenile if the juvenile is of sufficient age and capacity to reason, regardless of the juvenile’s chronological age.
The full House passed HB1360. This bill would allow residential electricians to perform work on three and four-family homes.
The House also passed the following bills:
- HB1027-This bill would require voter approval for any new advertising and promotion tax or any increase of existing advertising and promotion tax.
- SB118-This bill defines antisemitism as it relates to discriminatory acts. The definition in the bill adopts the definition from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
- SB116-This bill would allow a classroom teacher that leaves active employment for a period of time and then returns back to employment, to purchase the gap years at actuarial cost.
