The House Revenue and Taxation Committee advanced HB1026 on Thursday. This bill would prohibit local governments from enacting an income tax.
The committee also advanced HB1143 which defines “homestead” for purposes of the property tax exemption for disabled veterans, surviving spouses, and minor dependent children of disabled veterans.
The full House passed HB1099. This bill specifies the time within which one may seek an Attorney General’s opinion on whether the decision of a public-records custodian is consistent with the
Freedom of Information Act. It states the custodian, requestor, or subject of the records has until the close of office of the Attorney General the following business day of the decision.
The House also passed HB1147. This bill allows licensed home builders to sell their property without the requirement of a real estate license.
The House will reconvene on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
