One of the appropriations passed this afternoon will help fund the crises intervention centers across the state. HB1128 is a supplemental appropriation for $1.4 million to fund the centers in Craighead, Pulaski, Sebastian, and Washington County. The goal of the centers is to reduce jail overcrowding by offering treatment at these centers for mental or behavioral health issues.
Included in the more than 40 other bills passed today were appropriations for several commissions including the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission, Workers’ Compensation Commission, and Minority Health Commission.
We also passed appropriations for several colleges and universities.
