Governor’s Press Conference – April 22

Governor’s press conference today, WEDNESDAY APRIL 22nd, 2020:

🔘 2,276 total cases. Up 49 from yesterday. 13 of those are from Cummins. 35 are new nursing homes cases.
🔘 Lifting restrictions on elective procedures in hospitals and clinics. Effective April 27th.

FUTURE DECISIONS POINTS LEADING TO
MAY 4:

🟠Target date remains May 4th if we
continue to make progress reducing
community spread.
🟠The below decision announcements
will indicate whether a May 4 opening
will be allowed and any applicable
restrictive guidelines.

1️⃣ April 29: Announcement on restaurant
decision (possible in-service dining at
some restaurants)
2️⃣ April 30: Announcement on gym
decision
3️⃣ May 1: Beauty salon and barbershop
decision
4️⃣ May 4: Places of worship and larger
venues decision

🟠 Finalizing language-will be public later
today or tomorrow.
🟠 Day surgery only
🟠 No underlying medical conditions
🟠 No contact with a COVID-19 patient
within 14 days
🟠 No COVID-19 symptoms
🟠 Asking hospitals to start small
🟠 Patient must be tested within 48 hrs of
procedure just to be safe
🟠 Rural hospitals were excluded from
restrictions and are excluded from
these as well.

863 have recovered
97 currently hospitalized
23 currently on ventilators
262 have been healthcare workers
148 healthcare workers recovered
170 have been nursing home residents
31 nursing homes have active investigations
No new counties

📍1 less death (42 total). Person who
passed away yesterday was Missouri resident that passed away in AR.
