Among the several appropriations passed today, the House approved a measure to direct surplus funds for county jail reimbursements.
HB1134 appropriates $4.5 million from surplus to the Department of Correction. The additional funds will be used to reimburse county jails for holding inmates when there is insufficient space in the prison.
The House also passed SB110 which appropriates $386 thousand dollars from surplus funds to the Arkansas Supreme Court for legal fees.
Another supplemental appropriation, SB114, authorizes $150 thousand in surplus to the Arkansas School for the Blind for renovation purposes.
