Governor’s press conference today, SUNDAY APRIL 5th, 2020 (link in comments):

🔘 830 total cases

🔘 2 new counties impacted: Yell and Phillips. 64 counties total.

🔘 Projections say we should be at 2,000 cases at this point. We are beating the trend.

🔘 Projecting 100,000 unemployment claims by the end of this week in AR.

DR NATE SMITH, SEC OF ADH:

📍Breakdown on the 830 cases:
2.4% are children
6.6% are people ages 18-24
29.6% people ages 25-44
34.9% are people ages a 45-64
26.4% are people ages 65+

📍31% have 1+ underlying medical
conditions
9.3% have diabetes
8% have heart disease
5% have chronic lung disease

📍67 currently hospitalized (-5 since
yesterday)
130 total ever hospitalized
27 on ventilators (+4 since
yesterday)
43 total ever on ventilators

📍97 recovered (+18 since yesterday)

📍2 new deaths, 16 total
12 have been 65+
4 have been 19-64

📍114 healthcare workers. Breakdown:
14 physicians
34 nurses
11 CNA
55 licensed/unlicensed/unknown

📍60 in nursing homes
9 total nursing homes have cases

📍14 positive cases in Federal
Correctional Facility in Forrest City.
10 inmates and 4 staff. Many more
exhibiting symptoms. CDC has been
invited to come this week and bring
lab support to help.
